The 48th Senate District encompasses all of Jefferson and Oswego Counties, and portions of St. Lawrence County, including the cities of Ogdensburg and Waddington. Republicans maintain a significant enrollment advantage in the district. In 2010, Republican Patty Ritchie was elected to represent the 48th District.
